Welcome to the Norsjö Skiing Museum inaugurated in March 1989

The museum presents the Swedish skiing history, dedicated to the successful skiers from Norsjö. Visit the various rooms in the building to learn about the history of cross-country skiing. Learn more about the cross-country skiers from Norsjö, their equipment, training conditions, upbringing, and trophy collections.

Many SM winners, Vasaloppet skiers, World Championship and Olympic medallists and their history are presented at the museum. Learn more about the first Vasaloppet winner Ernst Alm, or the double Olympic gold medallist ’Guld-Martin Lundström’. Many SM winners are also documented here, such as Henning Isaksson, who won the 60 km race for 3 consecutive years.

Visit us

We are located in the Heritage Area in Norsjö. Sörbyvägen 20, 935 32 Norsjö. The museum follows the opening hours of the Heritage Area. Open 12-4 pm during the summer from June 16 – July 27, August 2-3, August 9-10 2025.

The area

Don’t miss visiting the entire local heritage area as it presents several interesting cultural-historical buildings. Fannygården is filled with photographs by famous photographers from the region. There is also an art exhibition by Victoria Nygren. Near the Skiing museum, there is also the Hunting Museum. Here you will encounter bears, wolverines, wolves, beavers, and diverse types of birds, and much more………. You will also learn about old trapping methods.

During the summer, there is a café in the heritage area.
